UV ink for Phone Cases UV Plastisol Ink

UV fluorescent inks are a type of specialty ink designed to emit visible light when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light, commonly referred to as blacklight. Unlike standard inks that merely reflect ambient light, fluorescent inks absorb UV radiation and re-emit it as bright, luminous color. The result is an eye-catching glow effect that makes your prints vibrant, dynamic, and impossible to ignore.

What Is UV Fluorescent Ink?

UV fluorescent ink is a specialized functional printing ink formulated with unique fluorescent pigments and carrier materials. Distinct from conventional printing inks that only reflect natural or artificial ambient light to present colors, this innovative ink can absorb invisible ultraviolet light energy and convert it into vivid visible light, producing a striking luminous glow effect. It remains ordinary in normal lighting conditions but delivers eye-catching glowing visuals under blacklight irradiation.
Widely valued for its dual attributes of decoration and practicality, UV fluorescent ink has become a core material for special printing scenarios. It is extensively applied in anti-counterfeiting printing, safety warning marking, creative design, brand promotion and interactive scene creation, catering to diverse demands of industrial production and artistic creation.

The Working Mechanism of UV Fluorescent Ink

The glowing effect of UV fluorescent ink stems from the physical principle of fluorescence conversion. The key active ingredients in the ink are high-performance fluorescent functional pigments. When exposed to ultraviolet light, these pigment molecules absorb UV photon energy and jump from a low-energy steady state to a high-energy excited state. This excited state is unstable, so the molecules will quickly release excess energy in the form of visible light and return to a stable state, thus forming a bright luminous effect visible to the human eye.
This unique light conversion characteristic endows the ink with dual practical value of functionality and aesthetics. On one hand, it enhances visual recognition in dim environments to meet safety warning needs; on the other hand, it creates a unique luminous visual effect, bringing innovative and futuristic expressive power to design works. Meanwhile, the whole light conversion process is safe, stable and non-radiative, with no damage to human body and environment.

Two Core Types of UV Fluorescent Inks

1. Visible UV Fluorescent Ink

This type of ink has inherent bright colors under natural daylight and can emit stronger and more dazzling fluorescence under UV light. With high color saturation and excellent light sensitivity, it is committed to improving visual impact and recognition. It is mainly used in scenarios requiring long-distance visibility and prominent visual effects, including high-visibility safety protective equipment such as safety helmets and reflective vests, outdoor promotional posters, commercial retail packaging, traffic warning signs and activity publicity materials.

2. Invisible UV Fluorescent Ink

Invisible UV fluorescent ink is colorless and transparent under conventional light, leaving no visible traces on the printing surface. It only presents clear and bright glowing patterns and text when irradiated by professional UV blacklights. Featuring high concealment and good anti-counterfeiting performance, it is the preferred material for confidential and anti-counterfeiting printing. Its typical application scenarios include anti-counterfeiting marks of banknotes, passports, identity certificates and official documents, product anti-counterfeiting labels, as well as interactive scene creation such as escape rooms and blacklight theme activities.

Basic Composition and Formulation Classification

UV fluorescent ink is mainly composed of two core parts: base carrier and fluorescent functional pigments. The fluorescent pigment is the core component to realize the light-emitting function, which is a kind of special synthetic compound with UV energy conversion capability. The base carrier determines the ink’s construction performance, drying speed, surface adhesion and environmental protection level.
According to different carrier formulas and application scenarios, UV fluorescent inks are divided into three mainstream types:
Water-based UV fluorescent ink: Adopts water as the main solvent, with low volatile content, non-toxic and odorless, eco-friendly and safe, suitable for environmentally friendly printing projects such as food packaging and children’s products.
Solvent-based UV fluorescent ink: Has strong adhesion, excellent wear resistance and weather resistance, stable printing effect, and is suitable for outdoor supplies and daily industrial products with high durability requirements.
UV-curable fluorescent ink: Features instant curing and rapid drying under UV irradiation, high printing efficiency, clear and delicate printing layers, and is widely used in high-speed industrial printing production lines.

UV Fluorescent Ink vs. Ordinary UV Ink

Many people confuse UV fluorescent ink with ordinary UV ink, but there are essential differences in working principle, visual effect and application value between the two:
Comparison Dimension
Ordinary UV Ink
UV Fluorescent Ink
Light Performance
Only reflects ambient light, no active light-emitting effect
Actively converts UV light into visible light to produce glowing effect
Visual Effect
Consistent conventional color presentation in all light environments
Ordinary in natural light, luminous and eye-catching under UV light
Core Use Cases
Conventional graphic printing, surface coloring and protection
 Special visual effects,decorative painting
Core Value
Basic coloring, wear resistance and durability
Functional practicality + personalized creative aesthetics
In short, ordinary UV ink focuses on basic printing and protection functions, while UV fluorescent ink breaks through the limitations of traditional color printing and realizes the dual upgrade of printing functionality and visual creativity.

Cilindrical UV printing is a digital process designed for decorating round or tapered objects. UV DTF Ink for Crystal Label Sticker Printing

UV DTF printing relies on UV flatbed or roll-to-roll printers and uses A/B double-layer film. Film A is used to carry patterns, while film B serves as the transfer medium. When attaching, it only requires a light press to complete the transfer. The operation is simple and does not generate heat or smoke. The equipment price is usually higher than that of the DTF system, but the hot pressing process is omitted.
